Souta Phanouvong, Pharmacist in Lao People’s Democratic Republic
Souta Phanouvong, pharmacist in Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR), explains why she chose to study food and drugs and shares a story about one of her first patients.
Our Involvement
CapacityPlus’s Wanda Jaskiewicz, with assistance from translator Sangsaath Vongkhamsao, interviewed Souta during her recent trip to Lao PDR, where she field-tested CapacityPlus’s Productivity Diagnostic and Improvement Toolkit and built the capacity of the Ministry of Health to use it. The toolkit is a comprehensive reference guide to calculate health workforce productivity, understand the causes of productivity problems, and select appropriate solutions.
About This Series
CapacityPlus places health workers at the center of our efforts. We embrace the WHO’s broad definition of health workers. Our staff conducted quick, informal interviews with health workers in various countries. We invite you to hear their voices and learn what we’re doing to help them save even more lives.
