Nabirye Ruth Wanyama, Senior Nursing Officer and Midwife in Uganda
Nabirye Ruth Wanyama, a senior nursing officer at Kasangati Health Center IV in Uganda, explains why she became a health worker and what motivates her to save lives.
Our Involvement
CapacityPlus works closely with the IntraHealth-led Uganda Capacity Program (UCP) to advance a number of health workforce strengthening interventions. While at the UCP office to conduct a training on monitoring and evaluation of human resources for health, CapacityPlus’s Crystal Ng interviewed Ruth, who had come to the UCP office to receive an award for her excellent work mentoring midwifery students.
About This Series
CapacityPlus places health workers at the center of our efforts. We embrace the WHO’s broad definition of health workers. Our staff conducted quick, informal interviews with health workers in various countries. We invite you to hear their voices and learn what we’re doing to help them save even more lives.
