Edith Kusasira, principal personnel officer, Uganda Ministry of Health, describes what she likes about her job and how she’s focused on the challenge of the health worker shortage.
Our Involvement
CapacityPlus’s Dykki Settle interviewed Edith while he was in Uganda to support the launch of the national health information system. Dykki leads CapacityPlus’s work to develop and support the iHRIS software, which helps countries manage their health workforce. CapacityPlus is assisting the Uganda Capacity Program to improve the quality and use of health workforce data, and helping several other countries customize and implement iHRIS.
About This Series
CapacityPlus places health workers at the center of our efforts. We embrace the WHO’s broad definition of health workers. Our staff conducted quick, informal interviews with health workers in various countries. We invite you to hear their voices and learn what we’re doing to help them save even more lives.
