Cecile Matiaba, Social Service Worker in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Cecile Matiaba, head of the social interventions division at DISPE, the DRC’s national-level division of child protection, tells a story about a boy who was living on the streets—and how she was able to help.
Our Involvement
CapacityPlus’s Daren Trudeau interviewed Matiaba during a trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. CapacityPlus works with DISPE to to strengthen the management, planning, training, and supervision of social service workers. With the project’s support, DISPE leads a new stakeholder leadership group to coordinate the country’s efforts around orphans and vulnerable children. The project also improved DISPE’s working environment.
