Sharing Retention Tools at Unite for Sight Global Health & Innovation Conference
On April 21, CapacityPlus’s Wanda Jaskiewicz served on a panel about community-based health care delivery models at the ninth annual Unite for Sight Global Health & Innovation Conference at Yale University in New Haven, CT. This year, the world’s leading global health and social entrepreneurship conference welcomed more than 2,200 participants from 50 countries and all 50 states.
Jaskiewicz presented on CapacityPlus’s development of the Rapid Retention Survey Toolkit, which enables health workforce managers to determine health workers’ motivational preferences, and iHRIS Retain, open source retention intervention costing software, to an audience of almost 200 participants. She discussed how these products were used to design evidence-based incentives to attract and retain health workers in rural areas in Uganda and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Copanelists included Amod Kumar, project director of IntraHealth International's Manthan Project in India; Susan O’Halloran, director of the Frontline Health Workers Coalition, of which IntraHealth is a member; and Mary Lake Polan of Columbia University School of Medicine.
