Samuel Jacob Ngobua, IntraHealth International, Chief of Party, Nigeria
Samuel graduated from the University of Ibadan with an MPH degree and later a postgraduate diploma in marketing from Kaduna Polytechnic. Prior to joining IntraHealth, he worked with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Abuja, as a program specialist, training; later he led the health systems strengthening unit. While at the CDC, he managed key projects including the Twinning Center Program, the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program, the project for HIV/AIDS services decentralization, and the project for strengthening integration of HIV/AIDS service delivery in Nigeria. He has an in-depth understanding of project implementation in a complex developing-country setting and has often engaged the government in a participatory approach to project implementation. He has additional training in US grants and cooperative agreements management, federal appropriation law, and epidemiology. He is also a multiple Department of States award winner, including the Franklin and spirit of team honors awards.
