CapacityPlus provided technical assistance to strengthen the Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL)’s organizational capacity to implement health programs and support service delivery in its 58 health facilities in underserved rural areas. Key milestones included the selection of a new board chair and full-time executive director to steer CHAL’s strategic direction; development of a website; and completion of a sustainability plan and an assessment of CHAL’s supply chain system for distribution of medicines and supplies to member institutions. Achieving these milestones contributed to strengthened organizational leadership and improved organizational visibility and external communications and built staff and operational capacity, which proved fundamental in CHAL’s rapid and effective response to the Ebola outbreak.
