Carol Bales, IntraHealth International, Communications Officer
Carol Bales is an experienced communications professional who focuses on the health workforce. During the global Capacity Project, her work centered around improving health worker data and its use for decision-making. For CapacityPlus, she supports all areas of the project, contributing expertise in writing and editing, social media, dissemination, and multimedia production. She is inspired by the frontline health workers she has interviewed and spent time with in Uganda, along with stories of other dedicated health workers around the world collected by her colleagues. She especially likes mixing these personal testimonies with photographs and video to communicate health workforce challenges and successes. With Sarah Dwyer, she produces the “I’m a Health Worker” video series, which is built on informal interviews staff members conduct with health workers they meet during their travels.
