PHASE 2: FOCUS EFFORTS
Step 4: Review the context
Knowing the context in which you are working helps to understand the internal and external factors that can influence your ability to succeed with your advocacy strategy. Taking account of possible challenges and opportunities may help you to determine if you need to modify your advocacy objectives.
Please refer back to the Examine and Act sections of each gender discrimination type—pregnancy and family responsibilities discrimination, occupational segregation, wage discrimination, and sexual harassment—to recall aspects of the context. On the Examine page, consider what sex-disaggregated data analyses, qualitative methods, and/or other data can be used to inform your approach. On the Act page, consider what kinds of gender-transformative interventions you may seek to implement to come closer to your advocacy goal.
